Deadline for digital registration of all companies extended till December
Attorney General and Minister for Economy, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum

The deadline for digital registration of all companies, foreign companies and business name holders has been extended to 31st December 2020.

This has been done in light of the COVID-19 pandemic’s serious impact on businesses throughout the country. Attorney General and Minister for Economy, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says this extension does not mean Fijian businesses should delay their digital registration.

He says in fact, COVID-19’s severe economic impact has made the need for accessible and reliable company information more critical than ever.

Sayed-Khaiyum adds that digital registration lessens the time, cost and difficulty for companies and businesses to access financial services like loans, ensure compliance, conduct company searches, arrange for e-payments and tap into the advantages of a modern, digital Fijian economy.

The digital registration exercise required all existing entities registered prior to 14 June 2019 to digitally register.
