Customers behaviour is another challenge for WAF - Soderberg
WAF COO Seru Soderberg

With many communities facing intermittent water supply to no water supply at all daily, the Water Authority of Fiji is calling on the public to change their behaviour of disposing their waste.

WAF COO Seru Soderberg says the challenges currently faced are not restricted to only infrastructure, however, it is also tied up to some of the behaviour customers display.

He says all sorts of household items are dumped into the waterways, which cause blockages, and this causes man-holes or waterways to overflow, which harms the environment.

Soderberg says what they are discharging out in the environment is a critical area of concern for them.

He adds they have had incidents where people open up the man-hole and dump FRA poles inside.

The COO says they will continue to create awareness on this.
