Current road-work projects will not be completed by the beginning of the new school term next year

Current road-work projects will not be completed by the beginning of the new school term next year, however it will be progressed significantly.

These are the comments of Fiji Roads Authority Chief Executive Officer, Jonathan Moore.

This is after Fijivillage questioned FRA on whether these projects would be completed before the new school year starts on January 16th.

The CEO says once school opens, work zones will become smaller.

He says the peak time prohibitions established earlier this year on construction equipment will be also be in place.

Moore says there are other projects that are being carried out in sections via the second phase of the Suva Arterial Road Upgrade Project.

The CEO says FRA is assessing roads that could be worked on at the same time so there would be minimal disruption.

Meanwhile Golf Link Road from the Nabua Roadabout to the Nivis Motors driveway will be closed from tomorrow to the 20th of January next year.

Motorists have been advised to use Ratu Dovi Road and Jerusalem Road as detour options to access onto Ratu Dovi Road and to Ratu Mara Road.
