Curfew lifted from midnight

Curfew lifted from midnight
Acting Prime Minister, Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum.

The national curfew imposed from 12am to 4am for almost 2 years has been lifted.

Acting Prime Minister, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says they recognize the curfew had other benefits unrelated to the virus itself.

The Acting Prime Minister says they have spoken to many households who have told them that they were grateful to have their children and loved ones at home more often because of the curfew.

He says these are the benefits that came unexpectedly and hopefully more people will continue to spend more time with their loved ones at home and take care of the community.

Sayed-Khaiyum says they cannot justify the continuation of the curfew for the sake of just these benefits.
