The Fiji Police Force is calling on Fijians to refrain from taking matters into their own hands and instead report criminal incidents to their nearest police station to ensure safety and proper legal handling.
This follows after a video circulating on facebook, showing an attempted robbery at a small shop in Cunningham.
In the footage, a man is seen entering the store and trying to steal money from the counter.
The video also shows a man and a woman struggling to stop the suspect, which led to a brawl where the robber throws punches at the two.
Police have confirmed that the incident has not been reported.
