Court to set date in Chaudhry vs Prof. Prasad defamation case in Jan

The matter where Fiji Labour Party Leader Mahendra Chaudhry has taken former Finance Minister and Government MP Professor Biman Prasad for allegedly calling him a crook will be called in court on the 30th of January to fix a trial date.

The matter was called before High Court Judge Justice Savenaca Banuve in the Civil Court this morning.

According to the Statement of Claim, Professor Prasad was reported on August 1st 2024 allegedly calling Chaudhry “…the biggest crook, he was hiding $2 million in Australia…”

Meanwhile, Professor Prasad has also filed a suit in relation to the incident.
