The Suva High Court has issued an order for the Medical Superintendent of CWM Hospital to review SODELPA MP Adi Litia Qionibaravi’s medical status.

Adi Litia did not appear in court for her case dealing with allegedly breaching the Parliamentary Remuneration Act of 2014, citing medical reasons.

She is alleged to have falsely stated that her permanent place of residence was in Ucunivanua, Verata, Tailevu and allegedly obtained $15,480 in parliamentary allowances between August 2019 and April 2020.

She is charged with one count each of false information to a public servant and obtaining financial advantage.

Justice Dr Thushara Kumarage says a full medical review will need to be prepared and given to the court.

Sevuloni Valenitabua, who is representing Adi Litia, told the Suva High Court that the instructions he received is that forgetfulness has crept in for her.

Valenitabua says the full medical report is yet to be prepared, and he will submit the report once he gets it from the family.

The case will be called again on the 5th of next month.
