Strong winds have caused corrugated iron sheets flying off from the stalls at the 2024 Miss Hibiscus Festival.

Videos are being circulated on social media which show corrugated iron sheets scattered around the stall.

In an interview with fijivillage News, Suva City Council Special Administrator, Tevita Boseiwaqa says they will be having a meeting with the OHS team at 10.30 this morning.

Boseiwaqa says this meeting is to have discussions on the weather situation and what is to be done.

He adds that the SCC staff are trying to clear the corrugated iron sheets.

The Nadi Weather Office has confirmed that based on the current weather situation no flood alerts will be issued later today.

Meanwhile, the Float Parade will start at 12pm from the Suva Flea Market to the Suva Foreshore, while the best float presentation will be at 3pm at the Main Stage.

The Miss Hibiscus 2024 crowning will be at 7pm at the Suva Foreshore Main Stage.
