Wives of Corrections Officers and Personnel from Labasa had recently put on a display of homemade traditional handicrafts and hand-woven materials.

Supervisor Northern Division Superintendent, Filimoni Seru says this display was the first-of-its-kind to take place that allows Labasa Corrections Officers' wives to showcase different handicrafts using their talent.

Seru says he was proud to witness their efforts and has acknowledged them for the items they have produced and the amount of creativity behind them.

Acting Commissioner of Corrections Salote Panapasa says they had received requests from Fiji Correction Service spouses to revive their Association including the annual volleyball competition.

Panapasa says she had considered it but then suggested that they undergo some handcraft and sewing lessons first so they can have a competition within their division.

She says the idea behind this is to allow young spouses to learn new skills and engage themselves in this bonding exercise where they can get to know each other.

The Southern Division will conduct the art and craft show next month.
