Contact Group not meeting a wide range of people - AG
Acting Prime Minister, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said the Pacific Forum Ministerial Contact Group is not meeting a wide range of people during its consultations today.

Sayed-Khaiyum said out of the 74 trade unions and other organisations, the Contact Group is only meeting a few, and mainly those who are against the government.

Sayed-Khaiyum said a group of NGO’s with a similar mindset will also be meeting the Contact Group later today.

Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said the Contact Group only met with him for about 20 minutes this morning and they seemed to be in a rush, and also interrupted him during his briefing, saying that he needs to be brief as they had more questions.

The Contact Group is currently having a combined one hour meeting with Laisenia Qarase, Mahendra Chaudhry and Mick Beddoes.

The group will speak to the media this evening.
