Concerns raised about road vendors
Is it legal to sell items on the road side?

The question was raised by Fijivillage to the Land Transport Authority following concerns on the dangers it poses to pedestrians when people selling items by the roadside, take up footpath space, forcing pedestrians to use the road instead.

With Christmas this Sunday, a number of people are still seen selling items by the roadside.

LTA Chief Executive Officer Naisa Tuinaceva said there is nothing wrong in selling items on the roadside, unless they way they are set up becomes an accident risk to pedestrians and vendors alike.
