The successful completion of the Yau Bula Project represents a vital milestone in the government’s commitment in promoting avenues to earn sustainable income in rural and remote areas.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Manoa Kamikamica highlighted this during the official handing over of “Yau Bula” Project to Living Wealth Pte Limited in Sabeto Nadi.

Kamikamica says the project was born out of the Rise Beyond the Reef initiative that was the changing point for the Creative Arts and Agriculture Industry.

He says the Fijian based entity sources have products such as handicrafts, embroided cushions and other crafts from all over Fiji for the world.

He says the Ministry through Integrated Human Resources Development Programme approved a total project cost of $100,000 whereby the Ministry invested $66,667 and Living Wealth had contributed $33,333 through a loan from the Fiji Development Bank.

Kamikamica adds that the Ministry has partnered with other many communal groups in forming co-operative businesses for growth of communities and the Fijian economy.
