Commerce Commission urges public to express views on FEA tarrifs
The Commerce Commission is urging members of the public to come forward and express their views on the Fiji Electricity Authority tariffs as it undertakes a comprehensive review of the tariff structures.

The Commission is giving the public a chance to provide views on issues such as whether the FEA's current tariff structure appropriate taking into account its operating costs and what changes are required, what the FEA has done in the past and what different strategies should it adopt to encourage energy conservation, what should FEA's role be on the demand side management and what can be done to take advantage of the FEA's scale of operations amongst others.

Fijivillage has also received several queries from members of the public on the current structure of the FEA tariff rates with many saying that it seems too complicated and confusing and they are unable to estimate their power usage.

While Dr. Reddy said people can raise these issues with the Commission, he does not believe that the current structure is complicated to figure out.
