Commander reminds troops of the importance of the work that they have been entrusted with

The Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces Major-General Jone Kalouniwai farewelled the 34 personnel who make up the NZ Humanitarian Assistance Disaster Relief Task Force at the Black Rock Camp in Nadi.

The Commander reminded the troops of the importance of the work that they have been entrusted with, which is to assist in the recovery and rehabilitation efforts of the areas affected by Tropical Cyclone Gabrielle.

The Contingent comprises of 26 RFMF personnel, 5 NDMO staff and 3 NFA personnel.

The NDMO delegation is led by the Director NDMO, Vasiti Soko whilst the RFMF along with the NFA is led by Navy Lieutenant Sikeli Naqoli.

NZ’s Deputy Prime Minister and Fiji's Minister for Maritime and Rural Development and Disaster were also present at the Nadi International Airport to farewell the troops before they left for Wellington.
