Coke games organizers have no jurisdiction over school zones

Coke games organizers have no jurisdiction over school zones
Organizers of the Coca Cola Games say they have no jurisdiction over the school athletics zones as concerns continue to be raised about the decision to have the rerun of the Senior Girls 4x100 metres relay of the Triple N Zone.

When contacted, General Secretary of the Fiji Secondary Schools Athletics Association, Vuli Waqa said he cannot say anything as they leave it to the zone meet organizers to resolve issues if there is a mess up.

However he said the meet organizers’ decision is final.

The ACS senior girls relay team which includes Elenoa Sailosi came in third and later protested that they were placed in the wrong lane after their run.

The issue here is that only the first and second placed school will go through to the Coca Cola Games.

ACS claims that they were earlier told that they would run in lane 3 however the starters placed them in lane 2 which was muddy.

However the ACS runners agreed to run in lane 2 and came in third.

Dilkusha Methodist came in first.

ACS only protested after coming in third.

Meet Manager who is also from ACS Josaia Tuinamata said the rerun has been approved by him.

When asked by Fijivillage if the first two qualifiers refuse to have the rerun, Tuinamata said their decision is final.
