Clean water is no longer a struggle for the people of Kumi Village, as 11 new water tanks provided by the government will now ensure a steady supply, bringing immense relief to families.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad says the project, supported by local authorities and donors, aims to ensure that rural communities like Kumi no longer suffer from water shortages.

He says for years, villagers especially women carried the burden of walking long distances to fetch water for their households.

The newly installed water tanks mean women and children no longer have to wake up before dawn or trek under the scorching sun to collect water, as clean water is now right at their doorstep, transforming their lives.

Children can now focus more on their education rather than spending time fetching water and families can maintain better sanitation.
