Church meetings will require permits

Church meetings will require permits
Apart from normal church services all other meetings will now require a permit.

This was the message relayed to two church denominations by the Fiji Police Force who met at their headquarters yesterday.

Methodist Church of Fiji Acting General Secretary Reverend Tevita Nawadra and New Methodist Christian Fellowship in Fiji General Superintendent Pastor Atu Vulaono met with senior police officers including the Chief Operations Officer, ACP Henry Brown.

ACP Brown said the churches were briefed on their position and the processes and procedures of applying for a permit were explained to them.

He added that the churches have assured them of their support and co-operation.
