Church Standing Committee given permit
The Methodist Church Standing Committee has been given a permit to hold its meeting this morning with certain conditions set out by the government.

Church President Rev Ame Tugawe has confirms that the permit was issued to them yesterday afternoon, with the condition that two former Church Presidents Manasa Lasaro and Reverend Tomasi Kanailagi be excluded from the meeting.

Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama earlier stated that a permit will only be given with the condition that those ministers who have a political agenda in the church are not allowed to be in the Standing Committee.

It is understood that the Committee will discuss the decision of the Prime Minister to cancell this years annual Methodist Church conference before informing its members.
