The $4.1 million worth of machinery given by the Chinese government will ensure reduction in costs to carry out major capital and infrastructure works.
Chinese Ambassador to Fiji Han Zhiqang and Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama signed the documents this morning which saw the 24 pieces of machinery change hands and will be allocated to the Fiji Military forces engineering division.
Deputy Secretary for Development at the Prime Minister's Office Eliki Bomani said the machinery will increase the capabilities of the RFMF Engineering corp.
Bomani added it will also help reduce preparation work for capital projects and help save money.
The machinery included trucks, graders, diggers and other earthmoving equipment.
