China donates $200,000 to help the South Pacific region in tourism recovery

The Chinese government has donated $200,000 to the South Pacific Tourism Organization for post-COVID-19 tourism recovery in the South Pacific Island Countries.

They have also paid US $200,000 for the new annual membership fee of the organization.

The CEO of the South Pacific Tourism Organization Christopher Cocker conveyed his gratitude to the Chinese Ambassador to Fiji Qian Bo, for China’s continuous support.

BO says China and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, signed an agreement, officially joining COVAX adding this is an important step China has taken to uphold the concept of a shared community of health for all and to honor its commitment to turn COVID- 19 vaccines into a global public good.
