Change in fuel prices

Service stations must provide water for vehicles to use when filling their radiators and air for their tyres.

Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said these outlets have been given three months to implement this.

The Commerce Commission has laid these conditions to the fuel retailers after they were given a 3.5% margin for retailing fuel.

Fuel prices change from today.

Diesel will go up by 5 cents a litre while kerosene will go up by 1 cent a litre.

The price of unleaded fuel will decrease by 2 cents a litre while premix fuel will go down by 11c a litre.

Meanwhile the price of steel has come down by 4.2%.

The Attorney General made this announcement after the Commerce Commission reached an agreement with sole supplier of steel to Fiji Fletcher Pacific Steel.

Sayed-Khaiyum said this is because steel is a critical component of any construction industry.
