Cause of two house fires over the weekend yet to be established

The National Fire Authority is yet to establish the cause of two house fires over the weekend.

The first incident occurred on Saturday at Rice Mill Road, Votualevu, Nadi where a home belonging to a 51-year-old man was destroyed in a fire.

Police say the man and his family were away when the incident occurred.

They say the estimated cost of damage is $30,000.

The second fire incident occurred at Crompton Place in Samabula at around 2 am yesterday.

The occupants of the house were sleeping when they were awoken by cracking noise and saw that smoke and fire had engulfed the hallway.
