The case of a 38‑year‑old man who is alleged to have raped a 3‑year‑old girl at a Day Care Center has been transferred to the Suva High Court.
The man has also been denied bail by the Suva Magistrates Court.
The man was a handyman at the school and he is charged with one count of rape.
The incident occurred on the 31st of August this year.
The matter was reported by the girls mother after she found out what had happened to her daughter.
The 38‑year‑old accused has claimed that he was not at work on the said day and he has been given 21 days to file his alibi statement.
The case has been adjourned to the 25th of this month.
