Cane harvesting cost could possibly increase as a review of mechanical harvester rates for sugarcane is underway.

The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission says they are inviting mechanical harvester operators and users and members of the public to participate in this review by providing their views, comments, and suggestions on current and future mechanical harvester rates.

Farmers are currently paying $17.50 per tonne of cane to mechanical harvester operators.
