The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team’s self-isolation period ended yesterday.
This was done after they received news that the results of the two Australian 7s players who were being tested for COVID-19 came back negative.
Fiji Rugby Union Chief Executive Officer, John O’Connor says the players were told to self-isolate as a precautionary measure.
O’Connor says all the players were in self-isolation from Monday and upon receiving the news of the two Australian players results, the Health Ministry cleared the players.
The CEO had earlier stated the players were scanned at the Nadi International Airport when they arrived last Wednesday and were cleared by the health officials.
He says when they arrived from Vancouver, the 14-day isolation period was not in effect, so they were only given the Health Ministry numbers to contact if symptoms of the disease arises.
