Bus tickets soon to be mandatory
As of the 18th of this month, it will be compulsory for all bus drivers to give tickets to their passengers or face a fine or even jail time.

The penalty: a minimum of $50 or a maximum of $500 or a three month imprisonment applies to bus drivers and passengers alike and comes into effect from October 18th after necessary awareness is carried out throughout the nation.

That is the revelation from the Land Transport Authority as they launched the Bus Ticketing Campaign yesterday afternoon.

Chairman Greg Lawlor said the passengers have to demand their tickets.
