The efforts of a father of five who saved the lives of 60 passengers will be rewarded tomorrow when he is awarded the NFA Bravery Award.
Nacanieli Natadra who has been a bus driver for the past 10 years was on his way to Suva from Lautoka earlier this month, when flames engulfed his bus at Nawai in Nadi at 11am.
Speaking to Fijivillage this afternoon, Natadra said when he saw the flames and smoke, all he thought about was the safety of his passengers.
Natadra will be awarded the Bravery award at the National Fire Authority Headquarters at Walu Bay in Suva.
Meanwhile, initial findings by the LTA and Police show that the fire was due to mechanical problems however a thorough investigation is being conducted.
