Bus fare program likely to continue
It's now highly likely that funds may be allocated for the Free School Bus Fare Program to continue next year.

This comes after a statement released by Education Minister, Filipe Bole saying that the bus fare initiative is expected to continue next year and at present, discussions are still being held on the most cost-effective and efficient way of disbursing bus fare for students.

Bole said the bus fare assistance is aimed at improving school attendance and performance, and decrease the number of school dropouts. He said reports received from schools have proved a remarkable increase in school attendance and more children have made it to school on time.

Meanwhile the Education Minister said the ministry has been receiving overwhelming responses from schools, parents and school managements over government's timely initiative.
