Bus driver taken to hospital after accident

A bus accident in the heart of Suva this morning has landed the driver in hospital.

Police confirm the accident was due to a mechanical fault where the bus veered off the main road at Victoria Parade and crashed into a sitting area at Sukuna park.

The driver sustained injuries and was taken to hospital along with a few of the passengers however, the passengers have been discharged.

Public transports are advised to carry out regular inspections to avoid such accidents.
