All Blacks star Brodie Retallick has revealed that 2023 will likely be his final season in the All Blacks jersey.
2023 will also be the World Cup year which will be held in France.
The 29-year-old is currently in Japan with the Kobelco Steelers in the Top League competition but will return to New Zealand in May when the season is completed.
In an interview with The XV, Retallick said his return to his homeland will mark the beginning of the end of his illustrious playing career.
He says if all goes to plan, playing for the All Blacks and two seasons for the Chiefs will probably be the last couple of matches for him in New Zealand soil.
Retallick made his debut for the Chiefs in 2012 and was named the World Rugby Player of the Year in 2014.
He has played 81 test for the All Blacks and also featured 107 times for the Chiefs.
With two Super Rugby titles and a World Cup crown to his name, Retallick has been an integral figure for whichever side he has played for.
