British army Fiji born soldier killed in Afghanistan
A Fijian serving in the British Army, Private Ratu Manasa Silibaravi, was killed on Friday in Afghanistan.

British Force news reports Silibaravi was fatally injured when his base came under an indirect fire attack while in Forward Operating Base Oulette in the north of Nahr-e-Saraj district of Helmand province.

Private Ratu Manasa Silibaravi had joined the British Army in 2002 and was deployed to Afghanistan on 11 March 2012 as a member of an Advanced Search Team responsible for the detection of Improvised Explosive Devices in areas deemed to be high risk.

Private Silibaravi who was 32-years-old leaves behind his parents, his brother and sister who all live in Fiji.
