The wife of Academic Dr Brij Lal was deported to Australia yesterday morning by Immigration officials at the Nadi Airport.
This had been confirmed by Director Immigration Major Nemani Vuniwaqa who said Padma Lals' name is on the prohibited Immigrant list.
He said she came to Fiji on Monday night and was stopped at the Nadi Airport.
According to Vuniwaqa, all the items confiscated from Lal were given back to her when she left Fiji yesterday morning.
Brij Lal, her husband was one of the architects of the 1997 Constitution.
