The body a man who went missing after a boat collision on Sunday afternoon has been found.
The body was found floating in the Qawa River near Cawaira Village by villagers at around 10pm last night.
A 15‑year‑old student was operating a boat carrying 7 passengers collided with an oncoming fibreglass boat carrying 4 passengers in Qawa River on Sunday.
The 15‑year‑old was heading from Cawaira towards Vulovi, and upon reaching the FSC bend, he could not control the speed and collided with the oncoming fibre‑glass boat.
Due to the impact of the collision, two passengers sustained injuries and they are admitted at Labasa Hospital.
A post-mortem will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death as investigations continue.
