The body of the missing 49 year old fisherman from Siberia, Labasa has been recovered.

Police say the Operations Team recovered the victim's body along the Benau River bank this morning.

A post mortem examination will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.

Police had earlier said the fisherman left on his 12 feet single tin boat on Tuesday night and failed to return home yesterday morning.

Two search parties consisting of officers from the Labasa Police Station were deployed to search for the fisherman along the Labasa River yesterday.
