The body of the Fiji national which was discovered in a Harbor in Cook Islands on Tuesday has been identified and his next of kin has been informed about the incident.
Police Spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri confirmed that the message was relayed to the next of kin yesterday and they are now assisting the Cook Island Police.
Meanwhile Cook Islands Police Commissioner Maara Tetava told Fijivillage in the last hour that the man is a 51 year old crew member of a ship.
According to Radio New Zealand, the man had gone to Cook Islands with a barge contracted to transport equipment between Rarotonga and Northern Group Islands for infrastructure development.
