Bilateral relations are dependent on the economic activity and interaction between the two countries – PS for Trade
Permanent Secretary for Trade, Shaheen Ali and Acting High Commissioner for South Africa to Fiji, Edgar Motsisi

The strength of any bilateral relations is dependent on the economic activity and interaction between the two countries, and our focus should be to grow and nurture this.

The Permanent Secretary for Trade, Co-operatives, SMEs and Communications, Shaheen Ali highlighted this when he received a courtesy call from the Acting High Commissioner for South Africa to Fiji, Edgar Motsisi.

Discussions focused on various potential areas of cooperation including Fiji as a destination for both foreign investment, trade and tourism.

Additionally, opportunities for Fiji as a near shoring hub for the Pacific Region and the potential for information exchange on ways to develop the agricultural sector in becoming viable commercial industries was discussed.

Fiji looks forward to strengthening its trade and investment relations with South Africa.
