Better things to come - Ryan
Digicel Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan is optimistic of better things to come despite winning the plate final at the Gold Coast 7s last night.

Ryan said a lot of improvement is needed and it is all about getting the right players on the field.

Speaking from Gold Coast Ryan said he is now excited about his new challenge and he has found something unique in the Fijian 7s players.

The Fiji 7s team put on a strong finish at the Gold Coast 7s after thrashing Kenya 36-nil in the plate final.

Fiji’s tries came from Samisoni Viriviri, Waisea Nacuqu, Sakiusa Nadruku, Ilai Tinai while Benito Masilevu scored twice.

Fiji kicks off its IRB World 7s Series with 13 points after the win and are in fifth position on the overall standing.

Meanwhile, Fiji born, Tomasi Cama, David Raikuna and Waisake Naholo scored a try each to help the All Blacks 7s team win the Gold Coast 7s after beating Australia 40-19 in the Cup final.

Coach Sir Gordon Tietjens said they came for a win as there are a lot of experience players in the team compared to the Australian side.

New Zealand now leads the IRB World 7s series with 20 points, Australia is in second place with 19 points followed by England with 17 points.
