Better access to medicines with new Seaqaqa pharmacy

A new pharmacy in Seaqaqa is helping to meet the medical needs of the local community.

Director of Optimum Health Pharmacy Seaqaqa, Vashneel Chand says the pharmacy, which employs three people, was officially opened to provide accessible and essential health services to residents in Seaqaqa and nearby areas.

He says a pharmacy is vital for this community, and people should not have to travel long distances just to access basic medications and health advice.

Chand says the project cost approximately $60,000 to establish and is managed daily by him.

He says he travels from Labasa where he lives to Seaqaqa — a journey he admits is one of the key challenges.

He says all the medications available at their Labasa branch are also available in Seaqaqa, and if there is anything they do not have, they make sure to request it immediately for the people.
