Local welterweight boxer Ratu Rakuro

Being bullied while growing up motivated local welterweight boxer Ratu Rakuro to take up boxing lessons and set his goal of becoming a better boxer.

As he prepares for his upcoming bout against Masing Warawara from Vanuatu this weekend, Rakuro says he is looking to rise to higher standards in his journey.

Rakuro says even though he faced some difficulties during his preparation when he lost his 2-year-old son this year, it has motivated him to be strong and resilient and prove his worth in the game of boxing.

He says that he is well-prepared for this fight and can't wait to step into the ring this weekend.

The FMF Tuwai Boxing promotion will be hosting a total of 9 bouts this Saturday at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.
