Farzana Farnaz Begum who has graduated with a gold medal in the Postgraduate Diploma in Education programme from FNU says with resilience, faith and hard work, her academic dreams has become a reality.

Begum says she has achieved 2 gold medals at FNU, with the first being in 2011 when she graduated as a teacher.

Begum considers teaching to be one of the most important professions and aspires to be a lecturer at FNU in the next five years.

Meanwhile, Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, and Acting Minister for Education, Rosy Akbar has acknowledged the high number of female graduates during the Fiji National University’s graduation ceremony at the Vodafone arena.

While officiating as the Chief Guest, Akbar says this year FNU witnessed a total of 896 female graduates and 839 male graduates which shows that more females are joining the workforce.

She further highlighted that education plays a key role in transforming livelihoods.
