Batinikama couple devastated as they watch their house destroyed in seconds

A couple in Batinikama, Labasa are still in shock, scared and devastated after their house was destroyed in a matter of seconds last night.

Raksha Singh and her family were stuck in a corner of their home after almost half of their house was blown away due to strong winds brought by Tropical Cyclone Yasa.

Singh says in her 36 years of life, she has never experienced this type of cyclone and it was just terrible.

She says their food supplies has been destroyed however their neighbor is preparing lunch for them.

Singh says almost all houses in their area has sustained some form of damage.

She says all the vegetables have been destroyed and livestock killed.

Singh says they will stay in one room which has a roof on and will put on tarpaulin on the other side of the house.
