The Permanent Secretary for Health Dr James Fong has highlighted that they are careful of the quality control for vaccines and if one batch does not look good or breaches their cold chain parameters, it is entirely removed from their stock.

Dr Fong has highlighted this while responding to a question whether the Health Ministry is confident enough that the vaccines will still be effective as more variants are becoming more prevalent nowadays.

He says when looking at countries that are more equipped to administer the vaccines accurately, it is an illustration of the potential of the vaccine.

Dr Fong says he is confident that our cold chain is up to the max in regards to Fiji because we have a long history of using that same cold chain for vaccines.
