Ban on harvesting sea cucumbers lifted for 6 months from 1st July

Good news for families who rely on the sea for their income as cabinet has approved the lifting of the ban on harvesting of sea cucumber for a period of six months, starting from 1st July.

Cabinet says the Ministry of Fisheries will consult with Divisional Commissioners on the issuance of harvesting licenses.

They say the Fisheries Ministry will work in partnership with the Ministry i-Taukei Affairs, Culture, Heritage and Arts to carry out general awareness pertaining to the implementation of this decision.
