Bali Airport re-opens after Mount Agung’s eruption

The Bali Airport has re-opened after Mount Agung’s eruption.

Officials say it may have to be closed again if the wind changes direction.

Houses and fields surrounding Mount Agung were covered with layers of ash following the eruption.

Up to 100,000 people had been ordered to vacate their premises leaving thousands of tourists stranded.

The authorities have warned tourists of the possible long waits as there is a huge backlog of flights.

The Denpasar airport is the main entry into Bali and is used by many tourists.
