A villager of Ra who applied for bail because he was the only breadwinner in the family was refused bail today by Suva High Court Judge Justice Prabaharan Kumararatnam.
The 60-year-old grandfather is charged with one count of rape.
Judge Kumararatnam said the man is charged with a serious offence and while he was on bail for another case of rape, he had breached his bail.
His trial date has been set for the 17th of November and he has been further remanded.
