Bail granted to men allegedly found with meth in Vatuwaqa

Bail has been granted to the men who was allegedly found with methamphetamine and other illicit drugs last Thursday.

Ritesh Kumar and Simione Serukalou appeared before Suva Magistrate Jeremiah Savou this afternoon.

Kumar has been charged with one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs.

It is alleged that Kumar was found with 1.2 grams of methamphetamine and other illicit drugs on the 1st of October at Rifle Range in Vatuwaqa.

Serukalou is charged with willfully and unlawfully obstructing a police constable while in execution of his duty.

The prosecution did not object to bail.

Both men have been granted bail on the conditions where they have to pay $500 bail bond, they cannot interfere with prosecution witnesses and are ordered not to re-offend.

The matter will be called on the 18th of November for plea.
