Baby boom takes toll on Health Ministry’s resources
The baby boom is taking its toll on the Health Ministry's resources as an unprecedented number of babies were delivered at maternity wards around the country last month.

Health Ministry Spokesperson Iliesa Tora revealed to Fijivillage that over 1000 babies were born at the CWM Hospital Maternity ward in April lone and the maternity wards around the country are still packed out with pregnant mothers.

Tora for the first time in Fiji, 2,500 babies have been delivered at the CWM Hospital alone over the last three months.

He said one reason for this is that women are not utilizing the sub divisional hospitals.
