Ba aiming to end 10-year-old Fiji FACT drought

It has been ten years since the Ba soccer team last won the Vodafone Fiji FACT and the team knows winning the title in Labasa will not be easy.

Ba President Rynal Kumar says they have a fairly young side with around 10 players who made their debut season.

Kumar says they will be relying on the experience of veteran midfielder Malakai Tiwa who is the only remaining member from the side which won the tournament in 2010.

The Men in Black had beaten Navua 1-0 in the final at Churchill Park.

Avinesh Suwamy scored the winner in that match.

Ba are yet to win a title this year as they finished 3rd in the Vodafone Premier League and were eliminated in the semifinal of the Battle of the Giants and the Courts IDC.

Ba takes on Nasinu in the first match of the Fiji FACT this Saturday at 1.30pm at Churchill Park while Nadi takes on Lautoka at 3.30pm the same day.

On Sunday, Suva plays Navua at 1pm at ANZ Stadium while Rewa takes on Labasa at 3pm.
