The Bank of South Pacific has handed over a donation of $50,000 to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation Fund to assist Fijians affected by Tropical Cyclone Harold.

BSP Country Head, Haroon Ali says the donation demonstrates the Banks longstanding commitment to Fiji in times of extraordinary challenges.

Ali says in addition to the ongoing war against COVID-19, they were saddened to witness how TC Harold wreaked havoc through communities damaging properties and impacting livelihoods.

Ali adds in line with the Bank’s value of “Community & Vanua”, they have a deep sense of responsibility to help these impacted communities.

He says the cyclone has left behind extensive damages to dwellings in many parts of Fiji adding this BSP donation will no doubt assist affected Fijians in these areas.

Ali adds they have a longstanding association with the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation Fund and want to support Government’s efforts already underway with the various programmes relating to this.
