Rewa put on a spectacular display of dominance this afternoon at Subrail Park, overwhelming defending champions Lautoka with a remarkable 6-0 victory in the second semi-final of the Extra Battle of the Giants Tournament.

This commanding victory stands as one of the biggest upsets of the tournament bringing the reigning champions’ campaign to a decisive end.

Lautoka were reduced to ten men early on after Kishan Sami was sent off in the 13th minute.

Rewa took control early, with John Orobulu opening the scoring in the 37th minute to give his side a 1-0 lead at halftime.

The second half saw a goal-scoring blitz from the Delta Tigers.

Setareki Hughes scored a double within minutes of each other in the 47th and 55th minute, while Orobulu scored his second in the 59th minute.

Josaia Sela extended Rewa’s lead scoring in the 71st minute while Semi Matalau scored in the 82nd minute.

Meanwhile, hosts Labasa edged Navua 1-0 in a tight first semi-final to book their spot in the final.

Rewa and Labasa will now battle for the prestigious BOG title in what promises to be a thrilling final at 3pm tomorrow at Subrail Park.
